05 November 2019
Signed by Masen CEO Mustapha Bakkoury and UNIDO Managing Director LI Yong, on the sidelines of the 18th General Assembly of this UN organization, this memorandum is part of the continuation of the fruitful partnership initiated at the COP22 in Marrakesh, which led to the development of a vanadium flow battery pilot project on the Masen R&D platform in Ouarzazate.
According to the statement, the signing of this memorandum will strengthen relations between the two institutions, notably through the exploration of the development potential of advanced renewable energy technologies in developing countries, particularly Morocco and African countries, and the identification of financing options covering the development and implementation of pilot projects before scaling up.
It also concerns initiating the transfer of technology through the deployment of a part of the industrial value chain in Morocco, sharing expertise and transferring know-how about the most innovative techniques and practices for the benefit of identified countries.
